Membership requirements
Any online business whose primary purpose is to attract and monetize an online audience.
Full member
1. - Must operate an online business not necessarily publishing
2. - Has voting rights
3. - Attends all OPA meetings
4. - Pays R0, R10 or R20k per annum membership fees depending on Revenues
Associate member
5. - Is a vendor of or provides support services to the online industry
6. - Has no voting rights
7. - Attends meeting by invitation only
8. - Pays R5k per annum membership fee
9. - E.g. online agency
Affiliate
member
10. - Has a demonstrable interest in online
11. - Has no voting rights
12. - Attends meetings by invitation
13. - Free membership
14. - E.g. other industry body like UK OPA
Membership costs
A tiered structure based on revenue bands as follows:
Gross annual online revenues of:
< R2m - OPA membership is free (Netratings cost detailed below)
R2m to R4m - R10k per annum
>R4m - R20k per annum
Each member will elect which band they fall into themselves (i.e. self regulating). The tiers will be published on the OPA website showing which companies fall under which tiers as follows:

Nielsen Online/Netratings costs
This is our measurement vendor - all members' sites are tagged with a Nielsen's tag which tracks users across the site and provide the relevant data.
Over and above the annual membership fee other compulsory costs are for the Netratings system also on an annual basis.

Sites with less than 50,000 unique browsers per month to use their system for an annual fee of R5, 000. These members would not have the demographic survey running on their sites and would be restricted to 15 channels on site Census.
